It's difficult to say what the best conditioner for long hair is without seeing your hair and knowing if its coloured, damaged any concerns you may have etc.
However long hair often requires a smoothing conditioner which detangles, elimates frizz and creates soft touchable hair. For these results I would recommend that you take a look at Joico Silk result smoothing conditioner or matrix biolage smoothing conditioner.

Yes you should always use a thermal protector such as protection spray when straightening your hair to protect your hair from heat damage.
There are plenty of smoothing balms available to combat frizz, I would recommend you take a look at the following; Joico smoothing balm, Redken Ultra straight balm, Redken outshine anti-frizz polishing milk and L'Oreal play ball pearl whip. You will see that some of these products are also thermal protectors and therefore can be used without the thermal protection spray.

If you wish to keep your hair straight I would recommend that you firstly wash your hair with a shampoo and conditioner such as tigi control freak. Apply redken ultra straight balm to damp hair and blow dry straight with a suitable brush. For the extra straight look, apply a thermal protector and straighten your hair with hair straighteners such as ghds. Finish off with Sebastian Laminates hair spray for a touchable, silky hold.

Q: Which straightener is best for straighting thick hair fast and quickly.?

The GHD IV Salon styler is recommended for very long thick coarse hair. It has a 2 inch plate which reduces straightening time. However if you have any short layers or fringes you may want to take a look at the GHD IV hair straightener as the plate on this is 1 inch wide as is easier to use on these.
