Q: I use the L'Oreal Age Densiforce shampoo and conditioner. I would like advise please about which product to use, when I blow dry my hair, and want a slightly messy look.?
Brenda Says: Hi there

To achieve a slightly messy look I would recommend that you use something to give your hair texture. Its difficult to say what is the best product without seeing your hair and knowing what kind of hold and finish you want however I would recommend that you take a look at Redken Fabricate 03. Fabricate is a heat-active texturizer  that uses heat to create texture and dimension while protecting hair from heat damage. There are also a number of L'oreal products that you may want to look at such as loreal playball texture tonic, playball density material and playball motion gelee. Sebastian Evokativ Disobedient Matte Paste will also help you achieve a messy look.

Q: i have thick wavy hair that is bottom of neck length and slightly bobbed style, i have no shine and lots of split ends, i have been recommended G.H.Ds to help protect my hair due to the amount i straighten it, what G.H.Ds would you recommend ? and would they help to make my hair straight down as against curling under, or would this only happen when i have more length ? thank you.?
Brenda Says: Hi there

Firstly I would recommend that you wash you hair with a good shampoo and conditioner to repair the damage and mend your split ends. Take a look at the Joico K-Pak shampoo and conditioner which are designed for damage repair. Once a week you should use Joico K-Pak deep penetrating treatment. This will imrpove the condition of your hair and enhance shine.

For your hair length I would recommend that you use the GHD IV hair straightener, it has a one inch wide plate. Please ensure that you use a good thermal protector before you use your straighteners yo protect your hair from any further damage. Please look at GHD thermal protection spray for dry and damaged hair, or Redken Spray starch. To maintain the straight look and stop the ends of your hair from curling you should also use also use a redken ultra straight straightening balm on damp hair before you dry it.

Q: hi there i hav fine hair which is thin, i've used to many shampoos to make my hair thicker and bouncy nothing works I'm only 18 and i need help thankyou?
Brenda Says: Hi there

I would recommend that you try ghd elevation shampoo and conditioner which plumps up and strenghtens each hair. ghd fat hair lotion may also be useful, it works like a mascara, plumping and thickening whilst improving shine and condition.

You may also want to use a thickening treatment every now and again such as Matrix Biolage Bodifying Cera Repair for long-lasting body, bounce and volume.

i hope this helps.

Q: Hi, I’m going to Mexico in the summer and I need to bring my GHD’s mk 3 – 220v-240v. I was going to buy the transformer advertised on your website which are 100w max, however I’ve read on a lot of websites that this is not enough as GHD’s need a minimum of 300w. Have you got any ideas about what I should do? Thanks.?
Brenda Says: Hi there,

The step up transformer plug will work with your ghds in Mexico. I have used the step up transformer in America and your ghds will work as they usually do. However hair dryers cannot be used on these plugs.

The new ghd  IV models come with an auto adjust feature which automatically changes the voltage.

Q: Hi I have both small and large ghd straightners and recently couldn't use them in Bermuda. I have been looking at purchasing the transformer from you but just wondering will this work for both my straightners in Bermuda and also America etc. If so will the temperature heat up to the same as in Britain or will they be slightly cooler. Thanks very much?
Brenda Says: Hi there

Yes the step up transformer plug will work with both your GHDs in Bermuda and the Americas.

Please note the new model ghd IV has an auto adjust feature and can automatically change to work with different voltages. All you need is the suitable travel adaptor plug.

Q: Hi Brenda I'm planning on buying some ghd straighteners to straighten and curl. My hair lacks shine of its own and I would like to know which of the finishing products you sell gives the best long-lasting shine. Thanks. ?

I would recommend that you try GHD reflection spray as it gives instant radiance to your heat-styled hair, leaving your style static-free with a superior shine.

Q: Hi, i am going on holiday to cancun in mexico in april for 2 weeks, i have very wavy hair and i need to take my hairdryer and ghd straighteners but i know they have a different voltage over there. how will i be able to take them and for them to work? Thanks?
Brenda Says: Hi there,

The new GHD IV comes with auto adjust voltage and will work in Mexico with an adaptor plug. However if you have the previous mk 3 GHD you will require a step up transformer plug. You can find this on our website by typing transformer into the search bar on the website.

However your hairdryer cannot be used with this plug as it will blow the internal fuse. Unfortunately I am not aware of any products that can be used to change the voltage of your hair dryer.
